Inside a church in Charleston, South Carolina, nine people were murdered in cold blood by a psychopath, and one of the first instincts the White House has is to use it as an opportunity to run down the United States based on a lie:
"We as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries." —@POTUS

This kind of bogus rhetoric doesn’t help matters. Then again, it’s not really supposed to, because we’re talking about people who have this quote cross-stitched on throw pillows on their living room couches
Sure, it never happens elsewhere — if we don’t count Charlie Hebdo, Kunming Rail Station in China, the youth camp slaughter in Norway, Cumbria, England, etc. The list is, sadly, quite long and far from isolated to the U.S. But the White House knows that.
Look how many shooting victims there have been in Chicago just this year — over 1,000. Barely a peep from the “more gun laws” crowd. Why not? (Rhetorical question… don’t bother)
After his comments about the need for more gun laws, the president excused himself in order to go save the planet from airplane emissions the EPA says are killing us all:
