Animated Characters

What animates the actions and words of American Politicians these days?

We like to think that, deep-down, when the rubber meets the road, most of our Politicians are animated by a love of what this country stands for. We believe that we are a unique people who, unlike every other nation that has ever been and is, are driven by a love of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all, that, ultimately, we’re pretty much all in agreement on this point.

Indeed, America is unique among the nations of the world in that it was animated by a set of beliefs grounded in Morality and Right Reason.

However, Human Beings are the same the World over. None are Perfect in any sense. As it is said: we are fallen creatures who are apt to let Evil into our Souls. Or, as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn put it in The Gulag Archipelago, Volume I:

If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?

During the life of any heart this line keeps changing place; sometimes it is squeezed one way by exuberant evil and sometimes it shifts to allow enough space for good to flourish. One and the same human being is, at various ages, under various circumstances, a totally different human being. At times he is close to being a devil, at times to sainthood. But his name doesn't change, and to that name we ascribe the whole lot, good and evil.

Americans are certainly not spared from this Truth about Human Beings.

So, while we like to think that we Americans are unique in every way, no matter how much our Society is unique, we are not all motivated by a love of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all.

I think it rather obvious that the Leftists In America are animated by it’s Ideology, which is a system of ideas that seeks to defy Human Nature — actually, crush it under it’s jackboots of Perverse Logic — and re-engineer it into a caricature of something Human. Leftism is animated by a hatred of Life as it is, by everything the people of The West [the most civilized peoples in History] see as Beautiful and Decent. The Left exists in a sewage pit of Misery and wants to drag everyone down into their Hell. They are motivated by a wish for a Communal Death in a world-wide conflagration, a Gotterdammerung.

Some of the Left In America’s followers — the Dupes — are not so Nihilistic, but, rather, seek to avoid shouldering the responsibilities that come with living with other Human Beings. They seek to wallow in the unprecedented luxuries living in America provides. They are more than willing to be led so along as they are provided with bread and circuses and Hedonistic revelry.

Some in America are too Weak and Cowardly to be the fighting leaders of the Revolution, but they want to grab hold of some of the Power emanating from those in Power And Control. They gladly wait for the crumbs to fall from the Table Of Power and, like the Collaborators they are, they will protect those sitting at the table so that the supply of crumbs is never exhausted. They happily submit to being the pets of those in Power And Control.

The Mitch McConnells and John Boehners are this last type of creature — cartoon characters, who are wild caricatures of Honest, Decent, and True Americans.

They and their fellow grovellers and Quislings are never to be trusted.

This, I think, explains why we see such things as the actions these buffoons have taken in regard to such things as the trade bills now before the Congress.

Never believe a word they say. Realize every claim they make is motivated by their desire for the stale crumbs of Power And Control.

Trust only those fellow Americans you know and respect and love.

And trust only in God, who provides the Strength we can use to not be led into Temptation.

…The day may dawn when fair play, love for one's fellow-men, respect for justice and freedom, will enable tormented generations to march forth serene and triumphant from the hideous epoch in which we have to dwell. Meanwhile, never flinch, never weary, never despair.

—Winston Churchill, last speech before Parliament in 1955
