As the Progressives have pursued their agenda of creating a dependency class, an objective moral code is the first thing they needed to destroy. Collectivist ideologies (and racial supremacy or separatism is the crudest of collectivist impulses) cannot allow for moral decisions to reside in the individual.
I’ll lay odds this murderer (I refuse to use its name) had never stepped one foot into a church until it went to this one.
Leftists have pushed, nudged, bullied the notion that group identity based on inherent characteristics (sex, melanin level) is determinative of worth. Individuals don’t really exist and certainly have no control over their own fate. All “luck”, good or bad, that happens to so-call individuals is because of their group identity.
First you hollow out the individual of all responsibility and accountability, then you fill them up with a group-centric ideology based on a characteristic outside of their control.
Being part of the justice system, I routinely see defendants lay the blame for their own chosen, criminal behavior on a myriad of outside forces. Those are the people who end up as our “repeat customers”.
Church or synagogue attendance is far from any guarantee that any one individual will not engage in criminal behavior. However, it is akin to who is more likely to get lung cancer, smokers or non-smokers.
I’ll place my bets on the religious.
