Murder suspect who had been deported 5 times chose S.F. because it’s a sanctuary city

**Written by Doug Powers

Back in 2007, then-Mayor Gavin Newsom pledged to keep San Francisco a sanctuary city and to discourage federal authorities from conducting immigration raids. That kind of thing sends a message — the wrong one — as evidenced by the story of a man who had been deported five times who now stands accused of shooting and killing a San Francisco woman who was walking down on a pier.

Why did he choose San Francisco? Because progressive “immigration” policies are such wonderful things:

An undocumented immigrant suspected of killing a woman at a San Francisco pier said he chose the city for its sanctuary policies — that is, he knew San Francisco was a good place to avoid deportation, he told ABC station KGO-TV.

In an exclusive jailhouse interview, a KGO-TV reporter asked Francisco Sanchez, the alleged gunman, “Did you keep coming back to San Francisco because you knew that they wouldn’t actively look for you to deport you?” and Sanchez responded, “Yes.”

Reminder: All Democrats running for president support the idea of sanctuary cities.
