Violence Erupts As Greece Faces Reality

Greece

Now that Greek politicians are finally starting to wake up to the reality of the country’s fiscal situation violence has erupted. You know, because why should anyone have to wait until their 50’s to retire?

Videos from the scene show large numbers of protesters, with small groups throwing what appear to be molotov cocktails and rocks at massed police.

Police have responded by firing tear gas at the protesters, who are part of a larger anti-austerity gathering.

And that was before the austerity package passed.

I can’t say I blame the young Greeks for being angry, considering they’re the ones who will pay the price for all of the bad decisions that came before. Well, they’ll pay the price and so will the ones bailing them out again. But rioting only makes matters worse. When will people learn?
