Presented here are remarks by Subotai Bahadur, a man I have never met or directly communicated with, but whose intelligence I admire.
He expresses my thoughts exactly:
All the old paradigms are shifting or dying. Constitutional government and law are mere memories here in the US, and are mysteries in most of the world. The Westphalian nation-state is attacked from within and without. Civilizations face barbarians again, and lack the will and confidence to resist.
Barbarians win sometimes. And they only have to win once for everything to come tumbling down, weakened from within.
The Romans in Britain after the withdrawal of the legions would understand, and the citizens of Rome itself once the barbarians figured out that tearing down the aqueducts would tear the heart out of the Empire. The subjects of the Sung Dynasty understood when Jebe Noyon’s light cavalry swept around their armies and destroyed them. As did the citizens of Kievan Rus when they found out that facing Mongol horn bows with sticks, rocks, and icons was militarily ineffective.
We are at or beyond the tipping point, within and without. The clashes of civilizations and barbarians, and between civilizations can no longer be settled with a return to a status quo…. And we are led by…
Well, I ran across something yesterday that fits:
AMERICAS POLITICAL CLASS: If I understand the history correctly, in the late 1990s, the President was impeached for lying about a sexual affair by a House of Representatives led by a man who was also then hiding a sexual affair, who was supposed to be replaced by another Congressman who stepped down when forced to reveal that he too was having a sexual affair, which led to the election of a new Speaker of the House who now has been indicted for lying about payments covering up his sexual contact with a boy. THIS is who I’m supposed to consent to be governed by???!!!???
This will not be resolved peacefully. Many of us will not survive, nor will our children. And whatever resolution results will be far worse than the world we voluntarily threw away with both hands.
It is imperative that we who seek to preserve all that is Moral and Right and Wise — The Permanent Things — get our own houses in order by Reforming our Souls first and then by banding together to face the coming Night and it’s Terrors.
You say it will not be easy? But it will be easiest of all possible resources. It will not be an easy choice for a body, but it is the only one for a soul. Not, it is not an easy path. But there are already people, even dozens of them, who over the years have maintained all these points and live by the truth.
So you will not be the first to take this path, but will join those who have already taken it. This path will be easier and shorter for all of us if we take it by mutual efforts and in close rank. If there are thousands of us, they will not be able to do anything with us. If there are tens of thousands of us, then we would not even recognize our country.
