Maybe the Injustice Department won’t be as bad under Loretta Lynch as during Eric Holder’s disgraceful tenure. It is finally doing something about violent extremism. Hey wait a minute, I thought “violent extremism” was a euphemism for applied Islam, not patriotism:
The Department of Justice is concentrating on "far-right" groups in a new study of social media usage aimed at combatting violent extremism.
The Justice Department's National Institute of Justice (NIJ) awarded Michigan State University $ 585,719 for the study, which was praised by Eric Holder, the former attorney general, earlier this year.
That is, hard-working patriotic Americans who believe in this country’s founding principles are paying over half a $ million for the privilege of having their leftist rulers investigate them.
"There is currently limited knowledge of the role of technology and computer mediated communications (CMCs), such as Facebook and Twitter, in the dissemination of messages that promote extremist agendas and radicalize individuals to violence," according to the NIJ grant. "The proposed study will address this gap through a series of qualitative and quantitative analyses of posts from various forms of CMC used by members of both the far-right and Islamic extremist movements."
It’s nice to know the authorities will check in on what the Islamic State has been tweeting about, after they get done scrutinizing communications favoring limited government. Maybe the next ISIS-inspired beheading in Oklahoma won’t come as a total surprise.
The purpose of lumping Islamic terrorism and conservatism together is to conflate them. For example, the Department of Social Justice might report that there have been over 26,000 lethal terror attacks by either Tea Party patriots or Islamic extremists since 9/11. No need to mention that none of them involved Tea Party patriots.
The study draws more upon right-wing forums than upon the corners of the web inhabited by Islamist extremists.
The one thing transparent about Obama is his priorities.
