ILYA SOMIN is a Professor of Law at the George Mason University School of Law whose research focuses on constitutional law, property law, and the study of popular political participation and its implications for constitutional democracy. His work appears regularly at the Volokh Conspiracy blog in the Washington Post, as well as in a variety of other publications, and his most recent book is entitled, The Grasping Hand: Kelo v. City of New London and the Limits of Eminent Domain.
